It's the end of the year, and Steam is compiling a list of the titles that received the most attention in 2021. To see the complete lengthy list, please visit the URL provided above. Check out the list below for some of the most surprising titles that Steam users have dedicated their time in.
The list begins with new games such as Valheim, New World, and the first season of Halo Infinite's multiplayer, which each had more than 200,000 peak players at the time of publication. The game Grand Theft Auto V, Dota 2, and Counter-Strike: Global Offensive are among the old favorites that have made a comeback in recent years. Perhaps most surprise is Cyberpunk 2077's placement at the top of the list, which helps to dispel the notion that CD Projekt Red's most recent game was a complete failure. At the very least, a large number of individuals are still actively playing Cyberpunk 2077 more than a year after its release.
Capcom's outstanding Resident Evil Village, as well as Farming Simulator 22 and Battlefield 2042, make an appearance in the game, which has over 100,000 peak players. Among the games included are titles such as The Last of Us, Rocket League, Penalty Kick Online, and Dead by Daylight, which you might expect to see.
A number of games, including Back 4 Blood, Phasmophobia, Sea of Thieves, and Final Fantasy XIV, stand out on the list of over 60,000 peak players. And, not to be overlooked, Left 4 Dead 2, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, Fallout 4, Dying Light, and Loop Hero all had successful years, with more than 30,000 players playing them in 2021.
